First Day Cover Text for "Stamp Sheetlet to Commemorate Hongkong Post's Participation in BANGKOK 2007"
(Issue Date: 3 Aug 2007)

A special stamp sheetlet is issued on 3 Aug 2007 to commemorate Hongkong Post's participation in BANGKOK 2007, the 20th Asian International Stamp Exhibition, an international philatelic event held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 3 to 12 August 2007.

Under the patronage of the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie and the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately*, BANGKOK 2007 aims to promote Thai stamps among countries in the Asian and Australasian regions. The design of this sheetlet evolves from an oil painting depicting distinctive features of Hong Kong and Thailand. Time-honoured modes of transport for commuters in Hong Kong are presented side by side with Thailand's venerated white elephant, Guardian God and the smiling Buddha. In contrast with the white flowing lines, shades of bright blue add a rich texture to the design.

*Note:
According to the latest notification from the BANGKOK 2007 Organising Committee, BANGKOK 2007 Stamp Exhibition is under the patronage of the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately.

Consequently, the information (the 1st sentence of the 2nd paragraph) on the already printed First Day Cover, Presentation Pack and Souvenir Cover associated with the "Stamp Sheetlet to Commemorate Hongkong Post's Participation in BANGKOK 2007" should read as below:
