The Acting Postmaster General, Mrs. Joanna CHOI, announced today (23 June 2006) that there would be no mail delivery and mail collection from posting boxes during the coming public holiday on 1 July 2006 (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day). All post offices would be closed.
Mrs. CHOI added that on Sunday, 2 July 2006, the General Post Office, the Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office and the Airport Post Office would open for business under the usual Sunday arrangements from 9 am to 2 pm while one mail collection would be arranged for all street posting boxes except those located on outlying islands and in remote areas.
