Speedpost introduces more service enhancements

The Postmaster General, Mr Luk Ping-chuen, announced today (September 14) that a new Postshop collectible, "Framed 1999 Hong Kong Definitive Stamps", which hitherto is for sale only to Local Standing Order Services customers, will be put on sale at 47 Postshop outlets as from September 15, 2002.

"Framed 1999 Hong Kong Definitive Stamps" comprises 21 denominations of 1999 Hong Kong Definitive Stamps issued between 1999 and 2002. The total face value of the stamps is HK124.10. "It is the first official framed stamps collectible issued by Hongkong Post," said Mr Luk.

The full set of 1999 Hong Kong Definitive Stamps is beautifully arranged in an elegant wooden black frame and mounted on environmental friendly acid free paper to ensure its long-lasting appreciation value. "Issued in a limited edition of 2000 sets only, every frame is uniquely mounted by hand and numbered individually," added Mr Luk.

This collectible has a high commemorative value as the stamps will soon be replaced by the new definitive stamps to be issued on October 14, 2002. The selling price per set is $688.

Customers can also purchase the new Postshop collectible through the mail order service available at all post offices and the Hongkong Post website at http://www.hongkongpost.com.
